Team Manjushree Organizes GST Seminar for corporates
"History, they say is a bad motorist. It rarely ever signals its intentions when it's taking a turn. This is that rarely ever moment, when history is turning a page."
These lines, part of a media campaign to commemorate sixty years of India's existence, could hardly have been held any greater meaning than it does now. India was readying itself for her greatest tax reform (and given the size of our economy and the complexities involved in it; by extension, the world's greatest tax reform).
The Goods and Services Tax.
With GST set to change the way businesses function, Manjushree decided to take the bull by the horns, and arranged to have an interactive seminar to understand the various aspects of GST and the impact it would have in our trades and lives. The session was conducted by our very own Dineshji Mour, a Chartered Accountant with 18 years of experience and Vivekji Jain, a long-time associate of Manjushree Group, and a CA of 15 years; both who've earned the sobriquet of GST Gurus because of the various training classes and seminars they've held across Guwahati and the client queries they've addressed.
The speakers emphasized on the need to become more compliant and importance of ethical business practices for sustenance. The talk included varied topics like concept of supply - time, place and value of supply, applicability of composition scheme, input tax credit allowed and disallowed, transitional provisions, besides public queries.
The congregation was held at Hotel Atithi on June 25, and was attended by leading industrialists and big and small traders. The meet spanned over eight hours and was interlaced with queries, their resolutions, fresh perspectives, and enhanced knowledge of GST for all; alongwith mouth-watering lunch and snacks.
